10/01/2008

Leading global accountancy firm Ernst & Young has announced the appointment of 17 new partners across its UK offices.

Over the last six months Ernst & Young has named 29 new partners, while the firm has grown by almost 50 per cent in the last three years.

Mark Otty, chairman of Ernst & Young in the UK and managing partner Northern Europe Middle East, India and Africa (NEMIA), said: "We have recruited record numbers of staff at all levels and are committed to continued investment in new partners to drive our business forward."

Figures show that the firm currently has the highest number of female partners among the top six accountancy firms.

Commenting on the company's recruitment strategies, Mr Otty said: "As well as promoting from within we have also made a major investment in direct entry partners.

"The firm has built itself a deserved reputation for not only promoting quality candidates internally but attracting the brightest and the best from the external market place. We expect to make plenty more of these appointments throughout 2008."

As the fourth largest accountancy firm in the UK, Ernst & Young employees approximately 114,000 people based in 140 countries.ADNFCR-1196-ID-18421431-ADNFCR
