20 jobs created by new bank opening in Belfast

26/08/2008

Up to 20 new jobs are to be created after HSBC announced it would be opening up a new branch on Royal Avenue in Belfast.

The new branch will see retail, commercial and financial planning services, newsletter.co.uk reports.

HSBC regional director for Northern Ireland, Cecil Russell, said: "The new opening is part of HSBC's continuing expansion plans.

"Northern Ireland has become increasingly global in outlook and people here, both locals and internationals, expect from their bank.

"With a presence in over 80 countries worldwide, HSBC is able to offer unrivalled access to international banking services as well as local expertise from professionals on the ground."

It will mean that Northern Ireland will have a total of six HSBC branches, with further planned over the next three years.

Currently there are branches in Coleraine, Londonderry, Portadown and Omagh.

It is hoped that the new branch will open before Christmas this year. ADNFCR-1196-ID-18748753-ADNFCR
